Is the 3rd, next Wednesday, too soon to start ? I don't plan on having a race on the 24th or the 31st, due to the holidays. I could rearrange the tracks to have one we all know, on the 3rd, if that would help. _________________

Hey Guys I need help. I have tried to load 2007 champ cars twice on my computer (windows vista) and both times when it tries to load a track it shuts down the mod with the statement rfactor has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem otherwise I am out.
Thanks

I don't have Vista, so I may not be of any help. I did just now go to the iDT forum. Try uninstalling your spotter program. I think the CC 2007 mod has a new vehicles folder that is throwing this off. _________________

Yeah. I really use the spotter on ovals, when you can't see where the other cars are. I haven't reinstalled it, since I reloaded stuff the last time. I may install it again, just to make sure it blows up. Then remove it. _________________

I wonder if copying and installing the champ car folder in the vehicle folder as well would work for the spotter or just screw everything.

Twrx...
You can still have the spotter program. re-install it, then when running rfactor - right click it and 'run as administrator' and you'll be fine. Spotter program requires you to run it that way. You can also right click your rfactor.exe and set to run as administrator everytime you click on it that way don't have to go through the whole right click gig.
Good luck hope that works for you. |

Hey Thrill,
Thanks for the info but the results were the same. Rfactor shuts down as soon as the track loads but only on champ cars. All other mods work fine.

K Thomas - sorry to hear that as I to have enjoyed the spotter program. I wonder why the issues are that way with this champ car mod?

Mark,
I think John was right when he assessed the problem is probably because the Champ Car vehicle folder is placed outside the normal vehicle folder. I was wondering what would happen if you copied the champ car folder and put the copy inside the vehicle folder but I have no idea if this is a plausible solution.

I wonder why they did it differently, to be honest. _________________
