While we are working on and testing our league F1 mod for 2010, the season doesn't begin for another 2 months. I don't want to just have testing meets among random members, since that doesn't get many drivers that excited to be there.

I am thinking of having preseason races, with the mod, as it gets developed, but that means keeping up with the new changes that come along. That takes time and attention to the threads in the forum.

I am also thinking of a mod week fun event, just to get people to start getting awake and ready for the next season. I really don't care WHAT the mod is. It could be Mud Buggies for all I care !

What I want to find out, is what is out there to get people to show up and maybe get people to JOIN our league. What could we throw on the server and get more than THREE drivers to show up for ?

Let's hear your ideas on this. What do YOU want to drive for the next month or so ?

This sounds like good fun! If you want something this is funny and not serious in anyway lol, look for mods built by Madcowie! He comes up with some of the craziest stuff. Not sure if it will attract ppl but it's very fun. Miniville got Hall of Fame.

I've noticed the servers are running F1 RFT F1 2009, horrible physics and the sounds are not that great but the models look nice. We could go that route but this is the off season and F1 is not for the off season IMO. ...execpt when I'm the one developing the 2010 mod (would be a couple others but they don't answer their PM's and emails so it's just me...Razz), it's F1 for 12 months. Razz

friends of mine are running an SCC mod just for fun. They are F1 guys like us but they are experimenting with some Endrance racing.

They are welcoming anyone from FIHS that would like to come race wtih them for their special event.

It might be a nice break for John to allow us to do a off league race with no admin work, and fill the gap nicely until our team selection and preseason are over.

Anyone who would like to check it out, http://www.usf1racing.com

You will need the SCC mod 1.2 install (no addons)and the Daytona Road Course 1.1 track. Their server is not passworded, so you dont need to sign up for their site if you just want to race the SCC events.

Is Ruben Miranda one of our old members ? It sounds familiar.

What time/day, are the races ?

I wonder if they'd like to try our mod Razz FRL 09 is not so good...good effort but the physics are BMW08 with wings only going to 32 but the lift and drag numbers are the same.

I thought about that, but you put so much work into the mod, I am not sure you want to distribute it around. you are right the F1RL mod is like driving an indy car, not an F1 car.

Ruben is one of the admin guys over there, he was part of our league a long while ago. He remembers John and Philo.

The races are Monday nights I think, The first race at Daytona is next week I believe.

I downloaded the cars. I'll check for the track.

Where in that forum can I find the details, like any specific rules and start time ?

I didn't see a section on it.

Its under the special events section. They are going to leave the server on SCC the rest of this week so people can practise.

I need to be approved before I can see the "Special Events" section, I guess. What is the car of choice ?
